ASK THE ONLY SYMBIOSIS CENTER IN DENMARK

Call or write to us if you need an interview or a quote, or if you just want to know more about industrial symbioses, where the residue from one company becomes a resource in another company.

Symbiosis Center Denmark has developed tools and methods and facilitates the process of opening the way for industrial symbioses. Industrial symbioses create value for both companies and society by increasing competitiveness, reducing resource consumption and benefiting the economy, the climate and the environment. Industrial symbioses are a part of the circular economy, which, according to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, can create up to 10,000 new jobs and an increase in GDP of 1.4% in Denmark alone.

To put it briefly, industrial symbioses make growth possible without a corresponding increase in the use of resources. And because industrial symbioses create local energy sources, companies can become less dependent on the fluctuations of world markets.

Through partnerships and projects, Symbiosis Center Denmark creates results in many areas. For example, Symbiosis Center Denmark was instrumental in more than 500 companies receiving a resource check. This resulted in more than 170 symbiosis matches, each of which forms the basis for establishing an industrial symbiosis. And Symbiosis Center Denmark, through its “Residue to Resource” project, has been involved in fostering resource optimisation and industrial symbioses to small and medium-sized companies. The level of job creation in these companies is high, and this can be further strengthened by increased competitiveness, created by industrial symbioses.
